Slokas 371-373 with meanings in English

Viveka chudamani Slokas 371-373 :

Guru has firmly stated that Nirvikalpa samadhi is the way for attaining Brahmatva or Mokhsa, Guru now focusses on means to reach that state. Here Guru starts with the modifications that Self undergoes because of the freewheeling mind, and how one may reach a state of renunciation to reach the final state of Nirvikalpa samadhi. In the following Slokas Guru takes the disciple through the steps needed to reach that goal.

Sloka 371

దేహప్రాణేన్ద్రియమనోబుద్ధిః
అదిభిః ఉపాదిభిః
యైర్యైర్వృత్తేః సమాయోగః
తత్తత్ భావోఽస్యయోగినః॥371॥

1 దేహప్రాణేన్ద్రియమనోబుద్ధిః -
body, breath (pranas), sense organs, mind and intellect;

2 అదిభిః ఉపాదిభిః -
and others that modify the Self;

3 యైర్యైర్వృత్తేః సమాయోగః -
యైః యైః వృత్తైః సమాయోగః -
with which ever of these the Jiva gets associated;

4 తత్తత్ భావోఽస్యయోగినః -
into that the Yogi gets associated (transformed);

Sloka summary 371:

Body, pranas, sense organs, mind and intellect and others that modify the Self; with which ever of these the Jiva gets associated, into that the Yogi gets associated( transformed).

The Yogis mind is modified according to its identification with the various Upadhis namely ( Body, pranas, sense organs, and intellect). Nirvikalpa Yoga requires Yogi to withdraw his mind from all these.When the mind is withdrawn from all these, then is seen the immersion in the experience of Supreme Bliss.

This is similar to a crystal which though bereft of color attains the color of that thing which is associated with it. So also Atman too gets associated with that Upadhi namely body, breath , sense organs etc

Sloka 372

తన్నివృత్యా మునేః
సమ్యక్ సర్వోపరమణం సుఖం।
సన్దృశ్యతే
సదానన్దరసానుభావ విప్లవః॥ 372॥

1 తన్నివృత్యా మునేః -
wise man having withdrawn from that ( association with modifications);

2 సర్వోపరమణం సుఖం -
(attains) that bliss of stilling all activity;

3 సదానన్దరసానుభావ విప్లవః -
 the rioutous experience of bliss Self;

4 సమ్యక్ సన్దృశ్యతే  -
is seen completely;

Sloka summary 372 :

With the cessation of association with Upadhis, attaining that bliss of cessation of activity, the wiseman is seen to immerse in the  riotous experience of bliss Self

These two Slokas make it clear that withdrawing of mind from all associations is required for enjoying the riotous experience of the bliss of self.

Withdrawing of mind requires some renunciation. Guru talks about that renunciation in the next Sloka.

Sloka 373

internal and external renunciation;

2 విరక్తస్త్యేవ యుజ్యతే -
is possible only for a man of dispassion;

For renunciation one should be of dispassion. Dispassion allows one to renounce.

4 విరక్తస్తు ముముక్షయా-
one with dispassion with desire desire for liberation;

3 త్యజత్యన్తః బహిః సఙ్గం-
  renounces both internal and external attachments;

Sloka summary 373:

Internal and external renunciation is possible only for a man of dispassion; One with dispassion with desire for liberation renounces both internal and external attachments.
